Illustration Friday Topic: Glamour
My first thought for this week's topic of Glamour was a fancy shoe. This quick sketch is of a Christian Louboutin shoe. The style and shape reminds me of retro-hollywood glamour...something Marilyn Monroe might have worn. Certainly not something you wear to the market--unless you want to, that is. For me, the word "glamour" connotes "money" and "style." A frivolous purchase like $600 shoes and the like seems to fit the bill. Will they bring you happiness? Or do you feel exactly the same way you did a day ago before you bought them (only now you have less money)? That's why I couldn't bring myself to color it in...

cool glam shoe. nice work!
Nice pic and words. Cool stuff.
love
lovely!
tall spike heels!
yikes, i remember wearing them in my younger days. nothing says glamour like a pair of long shapely legs...and it never seems to go out of style.
Nowadays, I'm kind of asleep when it comes to most guys...and sure enough, I wear jeans and running shoes...
so I haven't really noticed if women are still doing the heel thing.
But you can bet, if I put myself back in the hunt, I'm gonna use tight skirts and heels to attract my prey!
I have a pair of dove grey heels that I bought in 1993. I've worn them 3 times. They are too beautiful to give away, and the style is classic, so I don't believe they'll ever go out of style.
Heels look so nice on a date. And forget about short skirts. A dress that drapes to hint at curves, and that falls to just below the knee. Then a pair of classically designed shoes with one simple adornment, like yours in this illustration. Shoes with 3 inch spikes.
That will drive a man wild. He can't tell if you're a tramp or a lady, and he'll go insane trying to figure it out!
Mmmm. Yes. I never was big on shoes, but have discovered the draw. I realize now that they really make the outfit. How one person looks so good in just plain jeans and shirt...it's the SHOES! (Particularly high-heeled ones)
It's like an instant makeover.
Shoes...yes, they have a lot more to them than just something to protect the foot! This is a great drawing...I love the linework. I'm glad you didn't color it in...
The only problem with $600 shoes is that only a shoe salesman would recognize their worth.
Yeah, and the fact you actually have to walk in them and *gasp* get them dirty! Such tribulations!!
